The auction will showcase more than 160 donated works by mid-career and established ceramic artists from 12 countries, offering collectors and art lovers a rare opportunity to acquire significant works while directly supporting MoCA/NY’s mission to become the hub for ceramic arts in New York and beyond.

It’s easy. Here’s a step by step guide on how to get ready to bid!

Step 1: Create Your eBay Account (if you don’t already have one)
  1. Go to ebay.com → Click Register
  2. Enter name, email, password → Verify account
  3. Add a payment method (PayPal or credit card)
Tip: Save your login for easy access during the auction.

Step 2: Find Our Auction Items
  1. Starting on Thursday, November 27th at 8pm EST, find our auction items on Jeffrey Spahn’s Studio Pottery storefront via this link: https://www.ebay.com/str/studiopottery
  2. Browse items – note starting prices, artist, and descriptions
  3. Create a Watchlist by clicking on the heart ♥️ icon for items you’d like to bid on

Step 3: Place a Bid
  1. Click the item → Enter your maximum bid
  2. Click “Place Bid” → eBay will bid incrementally for you
  3. Confirm your bid
Tip: Automatic bidding helps you stay competitive without constant monitoring.


Step 4: Track & Win
  • eBay will notify you if you are outbid
  • Schedule bidding by closing times – items close 1 minute apart, starting at 11pm EST on Saturday, December 6th.
  • Pay promptly if you win
  • Shipping will be calculated and added to your bid

Bidding Tips
  • Bid early or set a max bid
  • Use the eBay app for notifications
  • Check item descriptions carefully
  • Staggered closings let you bid on multiple items
