Miami Art Week hosts over 20 international art fairs, more than 1200 galleries, and thousands of artists each December. This year, MoCA/NY spotlighted ceramic highlights at two fairs, which ran December 4-8th, 2024: Untitled Art Miami Beach and Design Miami.

Founded in 2012, Untitled Art Miami Beach is an annual leading contemporary art fair at 12th Street and Ocean Drive. In a custom-built, oceanfront, air-conditioned structure, visitors were treated to curated presentations, live events, and artist performances with 176 exhibitors. Led by an ongoing dedication to increasing diversity and representation across the contemporary art market, this year’s curatorial focus was East Meets West.

Design Miami was founded in 2005 by entrepreneur, real estate developer, and art and design collector Craig Robins, who transformed the previously abandoned Miami Design District into one of the world’s most important centers for innovative design, fashion, food, and art. Design Miami returned to its flagship Miami Beach location at Pride Park for its 20th edition. Situated at Convention Center Drive and 19th Street in an enormous tent alongside Art Basel, curatorial director Glenn Adamson’s chosen theme, Blue Sky, featured over 45 world-leading galleries and emphasized contemporary and historical design highlights.
